Mrs. Darlene Taig – Lead Teacher
Hi! I’m Darlene Taig and I am the interim teacher/director at Willow Creek
I have been in the field of early childhood education for 30 years. I began my career at RESA Head Start as a home base and lead classroom teacher. When RESA gave up the grant I began working for Garden City Schools in their early childhood program. 16 years ago I found my home at Willow Creek.
I have acquired 90 college credits at U of M Dearborn, Henry Ford and Schoolcraft. The bulk of my credits are in early childhood education. I have attended many conferences and workshops as well. In 2012 I was invited by Gryphon House publishing company to submit a teaching activity for publishing. I was one of 100 teachers nationwide to be selected to have their activity published in the books Let’s Take It Outside. I have also been published in The Mailbox a PreK teachers magazine several times.
I look forward to teaching your child and getting to know you and your family.
Mrs. Laura – Teacher’s Assistant
Hi! I’m Mrs. Laura and I am the teacher assistant at Willow Creek Cooperative Preschool (WCCP).
I have been a cooperative preschool parent since 2010. I have served on the executive board here at WCCP for four years as the President (2 years), Bookkeeper, and Vice President. Given this background, this allows me to have an excellent knowledge and understanding of our co-op from both a teacher and parent perspective.
I am CPR and First Aid certified through the American Red Cross for infant through adult ages. I have experienced in our classroom multiple children with allergies and other medical conditions including diabetes.
I live locally in the surrounding neighborhood with my husband, our three children and our two cats. We love sports, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
I’m looking forward to getting to know your family this year!
